SAY Studios is building a digital-first sketch comedy studio — think SNL for YouTube. We’re looking for an editor who lives and breathes the YouTube ecosystem, with a knack for cutting fast, funny, and visually sharp content that works natively on Shorts and long-form.

✏️ The Details
We’re building a new channel that’s strange, cinematic, and deeply unserious (in the best way). Think sketch meets short film. Satire meets sincerity. Comedy with a pulse.

The tone? Existential but joyful. Dark, absurd, occasionally stupid — but always with heart.

We’re looking for an editor who not only gets this tone, but can help shape it — someone who thinks outside the box, brings bold ideas to the table, and thrives in collaboration with writers, directors, and performers. You’ll need to be versatile, cutting multiple versions, testing different approaches, and experimenting until we land on what works.

💻 What You’ll Do

We’re looking for an editor that is collaborative, has great instincts for hooks, escalation and pay-offs in the YouTube world.

Edit YouTube Shorts, sketches, and cinematic scenes with a focus on pacing, humor, and retention.

Shape raw improv and workshop footage into tight, entertaining edits.

Cut multi-format deliverables: Shorts (vertical), long-form (horizontal), and social promos.

Collaborate with directors, writers, and producers to bring comedic timing and character-driven storytelling to life.

Apply YouTube-native editing instincts — strong hooks, snappy pacing, memes/captions/graphics where useful.

Organize media and maintain clear project structures for fast turnaround.

👀 What We’re Looking For

Experience editing for YouTube (portfolio or channel links).

Deep understanding of YouTube Shorts, algorithm-friendly pacing, and platform culture.

Ability to balance comedic timing with cinematic polish.

Skilled in Adobe Premiere (DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or CapCut experience a bonus).

Strong sense of story, rhythm, and comedic beats.

Comfortable working independently and iterating quickly with feedback.

Excited by absurd, surreal, and character-driven comedy.

😊 Nice to Have

Experience editing sketches, improv, or comedy.

Interest in internet culture, memes, and storytelling trends.

Motion graphics and sound design skills.
